Just got home from the Catie Curtis concert – what a great show! The music was wonderful, and Catie is a charming entertainer. Some of her songs were downright funny…there were many in the audience who, like me, are of the demographic to especially appreciate “Be Sixteen with Me,” about turning the tables on young adult children living at home. Others combined humor with poignancy, and many of the folks making a purchase at the CD table wanted to be sure to get “Dad’s Yard.” And the whole room felt uplifted and inspired as we sang the chorus of “Passing Through” together.
Catie is a poet-songwriter and, as a true artist, puts universal feelings to words. One of the things that makes the Grange Hall Coffeehouse so special is that vibe of a roomful of people who have been emotionally moved as a community in this old community hall. We have wonderful audiences at The Grange Hall Coffeehouse, and we appreciate their support of the coffeehouse and their enthusiasm throughout the show.
What was your favorite song?
Thank you to Catie for sharing her radiant spirit and soul-feeding music with us and to the organizers and volunteers who make this coffeehouse possible. It takes a few committed people to get something like this off the ground, but it takes a community to keep it going. Looking forward to the next one…and the next one!
