Catie Curtis was delightful…and oh! so talented…

Just got home from the Catie Curtis concert – what a great show!  The music was wonderful, and Catie is a charming entertainer.  Some of her songs were downright funny…there were many in the audience who, like me, are of the demographic to especially appreciate “Be Sixteen with Me,” about turning the tables on young adult children living at home.  Others combined humor with poignancy, and many of the folks making a purchase at the CD table wanted to be sure to get “Dad’s Yard.”  And the whole room felt uplifted and inspired as we sang the chorus of “Passing Through” together.

Catie is a poet-songwriter and, as a true artist, puts universal feelings to words.  One of the things that makes the Grange Hall Coffeehouse so special is that vibe of a roomful of people who have been emotionally moved as a community in this old community hall.   We have wonderful audiences at The Grange Hall Coffeehouse, and we appreciate their support of the coffeehouse and their enthusiasm throughout the show.

Our May concert is always one to look forward to…the grounds around the East Sandwich Grange Hall are in bloom, and the brook is bubbling with a cheerful and optimistic attitude.  Folks make friends with strangers while waiting for the doors to open, and it’s still light out!   Everyone is full of good cheer, and happy to be at the Coffeehouse.

This May we are hosting Catie Curtis and I am really excited about this concert.

I’ve been listening to her two latest CDs in the car, and keep popping them out to continue listening to them inside — always a sign of growing obsession with a musician.  I’m also excited because I’m thinking that my 20 year old daughter and her buddies will really enjoy this concert…Catie Curtis’s music has been on Grey’s Anatomy – and to my daughter, there is nothing better than that!

We’re hoping for a full house of music lovers, pleased to be in our beautiful hall, comfortable at a table with friends and family.  Catie Curtis’s music will fill you up with all sorts of emotions and you will leave knowing that you have just had a special experience.

Join us on Saturday, May 8th. Doors open at 7:30pm; music begins at 8pm.  Order tickets online until 4pm on the day of the show.  We will have any available tickets at the door.
